Milton is one of the few towns in the area where most homes are fairly new. Atlas Electric is a locally owned electrical contractor led by a Master Electrician (license M2306001089), and we help Milton homeowners add EV chargers, backup power and better lighting, and update the older houses near the center of town.

Milton sits along the Mud River, with US 60 running through town and Interstate 64 at exit 28. Census figures put the median Milton home at 1997, far newer than the 1950s medians in most Kanawha Valley towns. About 45% of homes were built in 2000 or later. At the same time, roughly one home in ten was built before 1940, so older houses are still part of the mix.
The town is also home to Blenko Glass, in Milton since 1921, and the West Virginia Pumpkin Park, where the restored 1876 Milton Covered Bridge now stands.
A house built in the last 20 years usually has a modern breaker panel and grounded outlets. What it often lacks is room for what owners add later: a Level 2 EV charger, a hot tub, a shop in the garage or a generator. We check your panel's capacity, size the circuit correctly and pull the permit.
For EVs, we install Tesla and ChargePoint chargers, or a charger you already bought. See EV charger installation for what to expect.
About two out of three Milton households heat with electricity, according to Census data. That makes an outage harder to ride out and makes panel capacity important when you replace an old system with a heat pump. For backup power, Atlas supplies and installs Kohler standby generators, and we install portable generator inlets with interlock kits for homes that want a simpler setup. Learn more on our generator installation page.
Milton has some of the newest housing in the area alongside older homes near the center of town, so one visit might be an EV charger and the next a pre-1940 rewire. Atlas Electric is locally owned, holds WV Contractor License WV064889 and is led by a Master Electrician (license M2306001089), and we pull permits for the jobs that need them.
