Teays Valley has grown faster than almost anywhere else in the region, and most of its homes are newer than the ones we see in Charleston or St. Albans. Atlas Electric is a locally owned electrical contractor led by a Master Electrician, and we help Teays Valley homeowners and businesses add what modern life needs without overloading the system they already have.

The broad, flat valley between Hurricane and Scott Depot was carved by the Teays River, which drained much of this part of the continent before the Ice Age rerouted it. That flat ground and easy access to Interstate 64 made the area a natural place to build. Over the past few decades, subdivisions, schools, shopping centers and medical offices have filled in along Teays Valley Road and Route 34, and the community is now one of the busiest parts of Putnam County.
Teays Valley is not an incorporated city. We pull the required permits for your project and schedule the inspection.
A house built in the last 20 or 30 years usually has a breaker panel and grounded wiring, so the question is rarely whether it is safe. The question is whether there is room for what you want next. A Level 2 EV charger, a hot tub on the back deck, a finished basement, a garage workshop or a heat pump replacement can each push a 150 or 200 amp panel close to its limit.
Before we add a big load, we run a load calculation. If the panel has room, we add the circuit. If it does not, we explain the options, from load management to a
A lot of Teays Valley homes heat with electric heat pumps and run electric water heaters, ranges and dryers. That makes good load planning more important, and it means an outage takes out heat, hot water and cooking at the same time. Natural gas is available on some Teays Valley streets and not on others, so the right backup plan depends on your address.
Where natural gas is available, Atlas Electric supplies and installs Kohler standby generators, and we run the natural gas line ourselves along with the automatic transfer switch. Where it is not, we install a generator inlet and an Interlock Kit so you can run selected circuits from a portable generator without back feeding the utility lines. Read more on our generator installation page.

Often it can, but not always. We run a load calculation first. If there is not enough room, we explain options such as load management or a panel upgrade.
Yes. We pull the required permits and handle the inspection for you.
Our standby generators run on natural gas, so it depends on whether gas service reaches your street. If it does not, an inlet with an Interlock Kit for a portable generator is a good option.
